Cowlitz Indian Tribe
In September 2004, MTGA (through its wholly owned subsidiary Mohegan Ventures-Northwest, LLC) entered into development and management agreements with the Cowlitz Indian Tribe of Washington State. Under the terms of the development agreement, MTGA and its local development partner will administer and oversee the planning, design, development, construction, and furnishing of the Cowlitz Project. The management agreement is for a period of seven years during which management will operate and maintain the planned casino and associated entertainment amenities. The Cowlitz Project is subject to certain governmental and regulatory approvals.
The project may include:
- A casino of up to 160,000 square feet;
- Restaurants and retail stores totaling up to 210,000 square feet;
- Convention and entertainment facilities of up to 150,000 square feet;
- A 250-room hotel; and
- Parking structures for approximately 8,500 vehicles and an RV park for 200 recreational vehicles.
